Why I Blog

  • My prayer is that anyone who chooses to read my thoughts on the true Bread of Life can pick up a few "crumbs" to give them a taste of what God has to offer each of us in His Word - an appetizer, if you will. Happy reading!

My Vision

  • My goal for this blog is for it to be an encouragement as well as a tool for others in their walk with Christ. Happy Reading!

Prayer Works

Hmmm...I just got a prayer request from a new online friend and wouldn't you know that my reading today made me think of prayer.  Prayer really works and is so much more powerful than we often give it credit for.

In Acts 12, we get to witness another jailbreak.  Now who said the bible wasn't action packed? It is!  Peter was put in prison by Herod, for preaching Jesus, but lo and behold, God got him out...again.  But this time, it was because of the prayer of the church.

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.  (Acts 12:5)

I won't quote the rest of the story, but suffice it to say that the angel of the Lord broke the chains from Peter's hands and led him out. (v 7-11).  Now that was some powerful prayer!  :)

How is your prayer life? Hey, God is asking me once again about mine, so I'm sharing it with you.  Do you pray specific prayers in expectation of specific answers?    We have the power of God at our fingertips if only we would pray.  I better sign off and get to it...I can think of a "few" things to pray for tonight.  Until tomorrow, my friends...
