The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your forefathers that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of the Pharoah king of Egypt. Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands. (Deuteronomy 7:7-9 NIV)
Did you ever stop to realize that God chose to love you not because you were the best, not because you were the brightest, but because you are you? I love this passage because it says so much about God's character and what He looks for in a relationship. God chose us, like He chose the people of Israel just because... How incredible.
He is faithful to keep on loving us through any circumstance. Sometimes we get angry at Him. Sometimes we forget about Him. Sometimes we flat out disobey Him. But He loves us still. He performs miracles for us still.
Take some time today to really ponder the truth today in the verse I've posted above. May you come to realize just how much you are loved.
